I got the new South Park game for my N64 yesterday and it is pretty kewl. My only complaint is with the controls. I had a lot of people tell me it was exactly like Goldeneye, but with better graphics. However, the game is harder to control than Goldeneye. You only have two controller options and neither of them work very fluidly. It's definitely harder than Goldeneye as well. Although I am a little bit disappointed, I am not sorry I bought it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone with a N64. As soon as I can find it, I am going to buy the expansion pack, which is supposed to make the graphics even better. Anyone else played it yet?

I just rented southpark 2 days ago and i thought the same thing the controls were different and the game was harder .Multiplayer is alot funnier than the normal one player game .I dont know when the expansionpak is coming out .

I went a bought an N64 just for the South Park game! (That's not to say that I haven't enjoyed renting some others, as well.) I think that the expansion pack is just more memory for the console, and they're available now. They *are* supposed to enhance the performance and graphics of almost *any* game, but I don't think that it's gonna help with the poor control of the game. Overall, I think the game is pretty cool. I hate that you can only select the special characters when playing in multiplayer mode, though. I'd much rather play the game levels as Chef or Mr. Mackey!

i was under the impression that the game has to be specifically written for use with the rampack or hi-res mode, maybe i'm wrong here...

I think you might be right. Unless the game is capable of using the expansion pack, it' probably wouldn't change a thing. But then again, *I* don't know for sure either! :-)

Catch me if you can, Buzz

Yes, the game must be expansion pak optimized/compatible for the graphics to be improved by the additional 4megs of memory the EP provides. The only games so far that I know of are South Park and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, which are both good games. Can't tell you how much difference it makes in these because I never tried 'em without the EP, but they do look better than older games. Too bad they couldn't have gotten this option into ZELDA.

Nice nick, first off. I saw "Hackers" too -- should I be Acid Burn for the sake of our discussion? :)

At any rate, when you buy a game it will have a set of icons in the red strip along the right side of the front of the box, which show you whether the game is compatible with multi players, rumble pack, controller pack, and expansion pack. I just thought I'd pass that along for those who've never bothered looking.

I dont know when the expansionpak is coming out .

It IS out. (In the UK at least - And it's 30 over here. (I.E. 'Fucking expensive'))

I went to buy South Park 64 a few days ago and was shocked at how much it was. I live in Canada and the price was $99.99 which is more than I will ever pay for a game. How much did you pay for yours? The expansion pack is already out here.

BuzzPepsiman50

$99.99 Canadian? Isn't that around $5.75 US? <S> Just kidding. I think I paid $60.00 US for it.

Catch one, Buzz ('Cause the ladies look a whole lot better when you have one!)
