NO!!! Adolph needs to win!! It will prove a point... out of all of the people picked "Man of the Year" Adolph was the most influential. I don't want the person picked to be a symbol of pride, and icon everyone's so proud of. Someone who's done so much for.... whatever. NO! It needs to be the coldest human being to ever recieve the award...the one mass murderer (well, sort of, I mean it wasn't just him) to receive more recognition than any other. This is not a joke, Adolph *has* to win. I'm not saying he's a great guy or anything. I also don't want the person to be an American. Especially not Cartman, although the funniest kid on South Park he is definitely the least-loved in my book. He is immently forgettable.

YES, but the vote thing goes till December 1999, thats a long time to keep him there!

THERE IS A LOT TO DO TO KEEP HIM IN FIRST FOR OVER 1 YEAR!!!!!!!!

Dear God, are you people serious? As much as I love South Park and think Cartman is great and hysterically funny, he does not deserve to even be nominated for person of the century. So many other (note: real people with 3 dimensional bodies and minds) people deserve this much more than a cartoon character. He's a CARTOON, a CARTOON for Christ's sake! He's not real, remember? What the hell has he done for mankind? Wake up all of you! This is so ridiculous. Do you really think that Cartman deserves to be #1, over JESUS? If so, then you must be sick. And those who don't believe in Jesus, well shit, there are PLENTY of other people out there much more influential than a goddamn cartoon character who came into being just a few months ago. Please people, come to your senses and vote for someone who truly deserves it, like Mother Teresa, or Jonas Salk, or the guys who invented Netscape, or the people who discovered the HIV virus. Thank you.

First, this is not 'Best-Nicest-Kindest-Smartest-etc. Person of the Century'. If it was, we would not even *consider* nominating Cartman (unless we did not take this seriously at *all*. Like me.). And Jesus (though he's not even *alive* in this century) would win. Second, when you look at the little things instead of the big picture, I think Cartman's done a hell of a lot. Sure, he hasn't saved millions of lives, but he may have helped a depressed soul by bringing a smile to their face. I found this really great quote in a Reader's Digest today, unfortunatly I didn't own the issue and therefor can not write it down..something along the lines of how laughter is essential, and if you can't laugh at yourself, then you're screwed. Well, Cartman is that. We're laughing at ourselves. And I think that when we look at Cartman and see every aspect of our imperfection in him, and *laugh* at it, well, I think that deserves *some* note, thank you very much... If I had a choice between Cartman and Mother Teresa, or Ghandi, or Martin Luther King, you can bet it would be Mother Teresa or Ghandi or Martin Luther King. But Cartman deserves some recognition, as do the cast of SP, as do *Trey Parker and Matt Stone* (I didn't see *them* up there..) Thank you, and good night.

Mother Teresa? The woman who campaigned against birth control and abortion while in the slums of an overcrowded city, who went to a hospital other than her own when she herself was sick? Cartman definitely deserves it more than she does.

Rabbit

If I remember correctly, Mother Teresa was a nun, a Catholic nun, and surprise!- many Catholics don't believe in birth control and abortion. It's part of the religion. But she gave so much love to the poor people who needed her, who didn't have anyone else. How dare you compare Cartman to this woman. But what do I care about this stupid poll anyway? It's all a big joke, right? Toni

Mother Theresa was an igorant bitch. Encouraging ignorant third world nation denizens to keep reproducing and producing numerous children that would join the legions of others starving to death as a result of overpopulation. Sure... let's all have a few million more unwated babies who will die of starvation or disease. Why not?

Godgirl...ooh, you're clever...

This is ridiculous. I'm not going to stoop down to your level. I never said she was perfect, for Christ's sake. I'm not some crazy Christian right winger preaching here. Like I said, I don't agree with everything she did either. I don't exactly go around secretly converting people, and I am in favor of birth control and abortion. But she did love those around her and devoted her life to caring for the poor. That's the only point I was trying to say.

Jeez, you take this so seriously. You didn't have to badmouth an old, dead woman. I bet if I tried to talk shit about Elvis or Princess Di I'd get my head bitten off. I don't think Cartman himself would defend you as gallantly as you or Rabbit do. First of all, I only used her as an example of who should be on the polls. I mentioned other people as examples-why don't you attack them too? Second, I don't even care anymore about the stupid poll. I could care less if Cartman gets to be #1 and has his fat face plastered on the cover of Time. Do calm down. Oh, and may God bless you. Toni

Actually, you should read Christopher Hitchens' writing about Mother Theresa -- she wasn't as wonderful as some thought. (My favorite example of this is how she ordered the other nuns not to give dying people painkillers because suffering is holy, and how she had her nuns secretly convert the mostly Hindu patients to Christianity, without telling them.)

So Cartman has my vote. At least he admits what he is. :)

surprise!-

the

who

Hmm... interesting. Well, who said Catholics are perfect? I should know- I'm Catholic too. I didn't say she was perfect or a saint or anything, but I still think she deserves to be mentioned in the polls more than the little fatass does. She was only doing her job as a Catholic when she secretly had those Hindus converted. I don't exactly agree with it eiter, but that's part of the religion. And when did he ever admit to what he is? What did he say?

Huh?

I must've missed that part in the New Testament where Jesus looked down from the mountain and said, "and when, in your travels, you come upon people who worship other Gods, be sure to baptize'm on the sly! It's part of your job!"

Oh brother...it's not my job to answer for everything she did...like I said, I don't agree with eveything she did. That wasn't the point. I was using her as an example of who should be in the POC polls. In addition, didn't missionaries use to do this hundreds of years ago, converting people against their will? I disagree with that, but yes it did happen. Please give her a break. She's dead. So many others have done worse. Toni

And Eric Cartman's fucking BLAZING towards second place - yesterday when I had a look, fat-ass - I mean, Eric - had about 76,000 votes. Today, he has over 84,500 votes. Hitler is absolutely static at 112,249 though I think Jesus might have gotten a couple of hundred votes overnight. But over *8,000* votes in one day?! Keep it up, boys!

Cheers,

It's Thursday the 23rd of July at 9:52am in Brisbane, Queensland now and having just voted (again) and clicked Reload, Eric Cartman's jumped to - get this - 92,987 votes! Jesus got 61 votes overnight to stand at 101,900 meanwhile Hitler got no new votes and is currently siftting at 112,249. Hell, if we keep up this 8,000-votes-a-day thing, Pigfucker will be #1 in 3 days!
