Actually, e.g. in German version of "South Park", they have re-dubbed Kenny, too... Which is quite strange for me, as it's like re-recording the lines of "The Lion King"'s just-laughing mute-hyena Ed... But it shows that they may re-record Kenny's lines, or something...

We had a Polish-language one, too, on the "digital tv" about 2-3 years ago, but I've [fortunately] not seen it - it was not extremely popluar though, in the opposite to subtitled ones, which are translated perfectly... And that's what should be done in my opinion with "South Park" episodes - no God damn dubs, just subtitles in non-English countries...

in the UK they dont edit it at all when its on terestrial tv (which everyone gets) or sky/cable (pay tv) so why are they going to in the US? unless its so they can air it earlier?

I'm gonna assume "It Hits the Fan" will be an episode that won't be in syndication....it'd be incomprehendable with all the beeps, and they'd have to pay a fortune to redub ALL those lines... :p
Good God...it's hard to imagine this. Considering that Cartoon Network, on Adult Swim late at night, cuts out "sweet zombie Jesus" from Futurama, it's hard ot imagine how hacked up South Park will be.

The editing of Futurama was a call made by someone from CN. The line doesn't go against any FCC rules, as it was aired uncut on FOX.

Comedy Central will synicate the show knowing that the syndicators will edit the eps to their liking, and that there will be episodes that won't air on free TV at all. People who have never seen the show will get a milder-rated experience as a result, but fans of the show will no doubt be disappointed by the edits..
and people who get hooked on the syndicated version will probably get comedy central just to see it "raw".

or get the seasons already out on DVD or learn how to use mIRC, find the networks and channels the eps are offered in, and get them that way or go to South Park X, Mr. Twig, and other sites that have the eps on their servers or get copies of the eps on CD from friends or... there are many ways to get the eps raw. :)
