South Park should be on HBO

Not that it's not good enough on Comedy Central. I feel they could make it much more funnier if they moved the show to HBO. The jokes would have more impact because they could use much more vulgarity and would be more risky. Has anyone ever watched DML? That's a good example. Dennis Miller is one of my favorite comedians now that he's on HBO and not NBC. Does anybody agree? Questions, comments, criticism welcome. ========================

Why do you think that SP belongs on HBO?? Give me a break. What makes you think that everyone wants to see more vulgarity in South Park? I realize what you said and I read what you wrote however, you still make it sound like it's not good enough to be on Comedy Central. I personally like it the way it's being written now. It's funny. It's entertaining. I've seen Dennis Miller Live before and his "f" this and "f" that routine... I don't need to hear that in a cartoon just to think it's funny dude. I'd prefer them to leave South Park the way it is and where it is thank you very much....

no, it should not be on HBO, because we don't get HBO! We did a while back, but my dad cancelled it coz there were to many things he didnt want me to see on it. If it switches to HBO, I'll never be able to see it.

In the beginning, I was genuinely surprised that Comedy Central would run a TV-MA series. Then, after seeing that the TV-MA rating was still subject to the fascism of basic cable, I too thought that HBO would have been a more appropriate home for "South Park". Hell, they could make every episode as uninhibited as "The Spirit of Christmas".

But I wonder... what is the viewership of HBO as compared to Comedy Central? Would this show be able to reach as many people? Or would it suffer the same fate as Ralph Bakshi's "Spicy City"? Or maybe McFarlane's "Spawn", which does have its following but appears relegated to the fringe of pop culture...

Not many people get HBO and I don't think that many are going to be willing to spend the extra money every month to get HBO channels for SP once a week. Comedy Central is a channel that is a 24/7 channel with all sorts of programming on it, not just South Park even though, that's the main reason why I turn to it every Wednesday night. I'm not ashamed to admit it.

Oh yeah, I'm also hooked on The Daily Show and Viva Variety. I'm also a big "Whose Line?" fan, which is currently in resurgence on ABC. But I'm pretty sure that SP would still find an audience on HBO.

Btw, wasn't South Park once pitched to MTV? I'm pretty sure I read something about that in a Parker & Stone bio. MTV must be kicking themselves for passing up on this gold mine... as clearly evidenced by such new series as "Celebrity Death Match" and "The Sifl and Olly Show".

OZ on HBO seems to have a pretty good following, and so did The Larry Sanders show!!!! I'm sure it would still reach a lot of people.

But South Park seems fine where it is now!!!
