In the latest .Net magazine issue (I think #62 called Power Up)
they have a feature on connecting to newsgroups. And guess which they use?! alt.tv.southpark!
I recognised a few of the posters, including Charles Munday and also Drew Thomas!

The issue in question is #65, and the article is "Raiders of the Lost Newsgroups." You'll have to buy the issue, though, because online articles are not available.

The December issue (# 65) will be available in the States in January. Issue 63 (October) just hit the stores in November, though I'm sure the Brits had it (# 63) in September. I'd love to see one of the Brits can it and send it to Total South Park, or to me.
