That Russell Crowe show was one of the funniest damn things I've ever seen.

It was partially a spoof of the aligator wrestler guy on the nature channel, I think.

One of the best eps of the year.

Or maybe they just saw Russ's music video which involves sailing on a ship... or they knew he'll be on a ship in his next movie. Will Russ be able to stand at the wheel without someone humming that tune? Or maybe it's just because he curses like a sailor?
Regardless, Matt and Trey are geniuses! Just found this bit in an article about the bar brawl video extortion case...
"Mercer, 39, and his bar partner, Mark James Potts, 44, are accused of withholding the video from police investigating the brawl.
Mercer allegedly tried to sell the video to Crowe, via Craig "Tugger" Coleman, now the coach of Souths, who refused. Coleman was and is a friend of Crowe."

If that's the case, does this mean that Matt & Trey have parodied him in two episodes now?
two
Yeah... I liked the first one a lot more.

The Crocodile Hunter guy has a movie coming out judging yb the preview I saw at E.T. So I guess it figures that Matt and Trey would make an episode with Russell Crowe, an Aussie actor, having a nature program.

I thought it was the stupidest episode ever.

I agree. Boring and repetitive. One of the worst episodes ever.
I got sick of it pretty fast. Its not an episode I would want to see again.

Agreed. Them running from house to house, the TV and Shelly's tampons was funny. Russell crowe got lame after the first few minutes.

Your house speaks to you? What about your garden?
I could've told you that three years ago.

Agreed. Russel Crowe went on way too long. Usually their plots are more involved. Oh well, there have been worse. KFJ
Repetition seems to be becoming common in recent episodes ("aides/AIDS", "shit...shit...shit...", etc.). I guess they're running out of filler.

Dunno. I thought Chef's big new multi-purpose tv alone was worth the view. Coulda had it blow Crowe away at the end, though. But maybe RC gets the point that his fists have a personality of their own (just like Dr. Strangelove - RIP).

"Worst episode ever"
Loved the Crocodile Hunter references. Very not-so-subtle.

The plot was a bit Seinfeldian. It wasn't like any other South Park before, so that's a plus.
In addition to that, it's about friggin' time that someone ripped the hell out of Russell Crowe. I REALLY hope he saw this and maybe begins to realize how much of a self important, self righteous, pompous son of a bitch he is.
I thought the episode was alright overall, but as usual, some moments made me laugh my ass off, particularly the river of blood part.
I liked the Robocop TV too.
I'm disappointed that Crowe himself didn't get his ass kicked by anyone? Is he that invincibly tough?
"Bill K." wrote in message news:...
Here's a clue.. he doesn't actually go around punching people in real life. That was based on the tabloid version of Russell Crowe which makes for a good cartoon character, but it's nothing like the real-life version.
Oh, so you must be a close personal friend to Crowe, since you clearly know the truth. Ask him what he thought about the episode next time you hang out with him, okay?
[email] (Kevin Skinner) wrote in message news:...
I have seen some of what the tabloids do to exaggerate and lie about him. Why would you believe tabloids? All we ever hear about is how they lie.. but for Russell, suddenly their telling the truth?? Crowe doesn't punch anyone. I've seen, like on video, where he's made jokes or was in a playful mood, but when the tabloids report the same incident, they make it seem like he was angry and insulting. They do it every time. He knows all about what the tabloids write about him, so I doubt he'd be too surprised to see the SP characterization.. it's still funny, even if it's not actually based on the truth. They certainly did their homework!

I don't know jack about Russell Crowe. I don't know if he walks around punching people or not. *But*, he's got the reputation, and that's really what's being lampooned.

Have you guys SEEN the man in public, like especially at the Oscars? He's a total bastard and it shows.
On or about 08 Apr 2002 02:52:22 GMT, Kevin Skinner made the sensational claim that:
You know, I hated his guts the first time I ever saw him. So of course he had to go and make it big. With that in mind, my prediction for next movie based on an SNL skit: that computer guy. What this has to do with South Park? Well, it prompted me to say South Park, so I'm on topic. Like I give a shit.
[email] (Kevin Skinner) wrote in message news:...
According to people who know him like Jodie Foster and Ron Howard, at those award shows he's just nervous and that makes him get all serious looking..but I wouldn't call that looking like a bastard. My first impression when I saw him on the Golden Globe awards was that he looked nervous. Compared to when I've seen him happy and relaxed on something like the Tonight Show, I can see the difference. He looked really floored when he won the Oscar in 2001. He was really stunned. And don't forget he's still adjusting to this mega-stardom thing.. it's been only just over a year since he won the Oscar for Gladiator and that whole Meg Ryan tabloid stuff that happened back then was when it all started. I'm sure he couldn't wait to go into hiding after the Oscars this year.
Didn't he get majorly pissed-off when his speech was cut short? The "real-life" RC?
"Bao H. Lammy" wrote in message news:...
As anyone would be after such a major insult. They cut out over half of what was a 1 min, 50 second speech to begin with. Do you think the BBC would have dared to cut out over half of a speech if it were one of their own great British actors? According to Crowe, the producer was rude to him and tried to brush him off when he wanted to have a talk with him about it and that's when he cursed him out. It's only the UK tabloid, the Sun that made it seem like Russ dragged him into a back room to beat him up. There's also reason to believe that there's a connection between the producer and the tabloid writer.
