what a reference, dont know about the comedy, but they certainly were trying to do a reference to 2001, I'm actually a little surprised they have ever watched the movie.

If you think back to the "Very Crappy Christmas" episode, I guess it stands to reason that Butters would be the one who knows what they're supposed to feel like.

After making the Stan, Kyle, Eric and Kenny cut-outs, Butters has his own cut-out rejected for use in the animated Christmas movie and comforts himself by playing with the Butters cut-out and a Barbie, who asks the cut-out if it would like to smack her breasts around. As usual, Butters fears getting in trouble.
Why? They seem to be exhaustively acquainted with all other pop culture from the 60s - 90s. It's not as if 2001 was exactly an obscure picture.
