I hate to say this, but...

I just watched the new Halloween episode last night and I have to say I was disappointed. That makes four bleepless, toned down, new episodes in a row that they've shown. I guess Trey and Matt have finally buckled under the pressure to make the show "kiddie-friendly". It seems to have permanently lost the audacity and style that made it so popular in the first place. The first two seasons were great, but the quality has gone steadily downhill during the third. In my opinion, it no longer warrants a TV-MA rating. Sadly, a TV-PG one will do just fine.

And you don't think that two guys graphically describing necrophilia is just a *wee* bit over TV-PG? TV-14, maybe, but certainly not that low. Different episodes have also, IMO, been a wee bit lower on the scale..for example, Damien *was* TV-14. As in, the TV ratings box said that. IMO, yes, the adult humor of South Park is great, it's wonderful to cross the line-as the movie certainly did-and it makes it all the funnier. But plot, satire, and *intelligence* in the humor is nice too. I loved the Jew Scouts episode because it was a perfect satire of Boy/Girl Scouts, Kenny made one of his world-famous sacrifices, and the Squirts subplot was darling, not because of the word 'ass' in the message of the day. Yes, some people do watch South Park because they think it's 'a bunch of fart jokes'-I talked to one just last night-and I respect them, but I know that I, as well as quite a few others, would stop watching the show if that's all it became.

I agree. I feel sorry for the people that think Matt and Trey are just in it to put in the f-word. They'll make an episode how they want, and how they think it's funny. There's one reason the trend audience left the show: it was becoming too witty for them.

Now, hold on. Did I actually say I liked fart jokes? The fact is that I can't stand them. The point I was trying to make involved the toning down of the show. It had absolutely nothing to do with fart jokes.
