Uh oh

You know, I just noticed two things. The creators violated their own rule in the Jay Leno short. Normally, they key to Kenny is that everyone in the show can understand what he's saying, but not people outside the show. However, in the Leno short, Stan had to interperet what Kenny was saying for Leno. Now, I know the RealLife(tm) reasons for doing this (the people who originally saw it, i.e. the viewers of The Tonight Show, might not have been viewers of South Park, and wouldn't have gotten the joke), but there had to have been a more true-to-the-show way of dealing with that.

Also (though I haven't seen the video version, I've only heard the mp3 version), it doesn't sound like Kenny dies in "O Holy Night." That will make Oholy the first short OR episode where Kenny doesn't die. (Even in Frosty, "Kenny" dies, even though "Kenny" is the name given to what is now Cartman)

Any comments?

Two technicalities -

1)Kenny is seated in the classroom as the Leno short ends so he didn't actually die per se.

2) Ditto the ORIGINAL episode of "Anal Probe" - Kenny returns at the end.

I know the other kids are there, because you can hear them in the background saying "mememe" when Mr. Garrison asks who wants the prod. The video version of the clip airs tomorrow (monday) during "Back to School," I guess we'll see then. But what I meant was, in any South Park based clip other than that, Kenny has died. He even dies in the pumpkin carving animation for Halloween. (be sure to keep the blade of the knife pointed AWAY from your body)

I didn't see the Cable Ace awards, thanks for telling me about that. I'm not blaming them for being rushed, trust me. I'm just pointing it out as a factoid. Speaking of the Leno skit, I've been wondering something... when Cartman says "I'll kick you in the <bleep>," what is the <bleep>? They wouldn't have censored "nuts," and I don't think they would have censored "ass," because the other children say it too. What do you think it is?

There is an original, uncut Anal Probe out there, somewhere. It's a little different, from what I've been hearing. Gus Porterhouse "You think it's broken? Let me make sure..."

You're right about the Kenny bit in the Leno skit. But I have a feeling that they were feeling a bit rushed.

Solution to the Leno-Kenny bit:

Kenny: Mmmph mmp mmmmph mmmphmm Leno: No, I did have a silicone implant!
