Ok, everyone is saying read the FAQ but no one is posting a link or whatever to it. So, therefore they are newbies and don't know where the FAQ is! -me

Or just type "south park" (quotes included) and you'll probably find about a THOUSAND web pages, most of which feature sound files.

Or just look at the messages in this newsgroup... at any given time, there's a half dozen messages of people advertising their fucking SP web pages.

Whats wrong with posting the FAQ to this NG occasionally. Why screw around with a website thats never up. Why don't we do things the right way? We used to post FAQs to newsgroups and no-one evere complained.

Nothing, at base. However, it would need to be posted fairly often, because the current volume of off-topic and/or troll-feeding posts (now reaching 90% some days) would push it "off the edge" pretty fast (i.e., make it too old to appear on most servers).

Also, somebody with gobs of free time -- which we all know doesn't include annnnnnnnnyone here -- would have to volunteer to post it, and that someone would have to be dependable enough to keep his or her commitment. But a group like this, that deteriorates so fast into troll-feeder heaven, doesn't usually *retain* dependable people for more than a few months at a time. So we'd keep having to pass the baton, and eventually somebody'd drop it & break it or use it for a dildo and there ya go.

I have an Idea. We could all think of some of the frequently asked questions.....write our own FAQ and have someone email it to anyone who is a newbee here/needs a q answered/or post it every week or two weeks. They can keep/read it and then ask us any q's that are not on it. I'd volunteer to email/post it. What do you guys think?

Killfiles are differen't on every browser. Just give an address where you can get a killfile for those browers that don't have a killfile (eg: netscape commmunticator) -me

I think EVERY South Park fan should carry the FAQ's URL in their sig, along with something like "New here? Then please read..." before it.

Most newsgroups do this, and it cuts down on the newbies asking the obvious questions.

Same thing that happens to *any* regular poster here -- he or she gets completely disgusted with the way the group deteriorates at intervals and finally gives up.

I was an active poster in this group from its beginning (Fall 1997) until about Christmas, and came back only recently. NOBODY who was here then is still here actively posting now. NOBODY. Unless you count me -- but I'm insane.
