I'll tell you why the US got odd DVDs (after the first few) -- odd in that the episodes are not always shown in order (Aren't some not even from the same season?): Money. They know they can sell a bunch of South Park DVDs with a mixed bag of episodes, and then later on sell a bunch of chronologically-correct DVDs. The same thing happened with Friends. (No, I didn't buy any of those!) Similar to the practice of releasing a DVD movie and then releasing a deluxe version of it just long enough later so that they can sucker some people into buying both when all they really would have wanted was the deluxe.

In some cases, they actually ADDED beeps not present in original Comedy Central airings: Mr Mackie says "Right-winged authoritated bullshit" on Comedy central, while "Bullshit" gets bleeped on the DVD.

As far as I'm concerned, censoring should not occur on home video releases. There should be no bleeps on any DVD released episodes.

I think the bleeps can be funnier in some instances. Maybe a dual audio track, one with bleeps, the other without, would be a good compromise.

Actually I hear that was only uncensored on the FIRST airing, and it was a mistake because the bleep was forgotten. It was fixed by the second airing.
