I work at the movies! (South Park stuff)

I'm so damn pissed off about Wild Wild West and it doing better than South Park, that I've personally been on a one man promotion tour for South Park! I took a poster board and wrote "Will saids: Go SEE SOUTH PARK" and I taped it to the Wild Wild West Standee of Will. We didn't get ANY South Park promotional stuff (like Standees) and I figured South Park deserves the credit.

Here's a great quote from the man himself on that OTHER movie...

Trey Parker on Wild Wild West: "I have nothing against Salma (Hayek--who was scheduled on the Tonight Show the same night the creators of SouthPark were), but Wild, Wild West represents to me eveything I hate about Hollywood, which is the studio conceived movie, put together in a board room by a bunch of old guys in suits. My manager and projection pals have told me Wild Wild west put them to sleep and wasn't even funny. South Park will do better as it progresses, I think word of mouth will spread the thing. Critics are raving, people are raving, and I would love to see the thing crush every f*cking movie there is. It's cool, because someone else said at work they were already talking about it. BUT, the thing not cool. Here goes: South Park is in one of our smaller theatres. And Wild Wild West? IN TWO THEATRES, one of which is in our BIGGEST ONE? F*cked up? South Park has been doing well and I saw it with a sold out crowd. Spread the word on this great movie and see it again! Show the unoriginal bastards in hollywood, and not selling out is the only way out.

HOLY SHIT! I CANT believe this, and I'm glad you pointed this auction out...This guy used to be head manager of the movie theatre I work at, but got fired, cause he stole stuff, I'm checking his past auctions and there it is...Star Wars E. 1 trailer, the one he stole, he sold! At the theater near my house, South Park is on 2 screens and WWWest is on 4 screens. I have no respect for the people who are going to WWWest. To me, that flick is just as bad as all the people going to see Titanic. Which I still haven't seen and never will. The people seeing WWWest are probably the same ones that saw Independance Day. I saw that and I HATED it so f*cking much! All special effects with a shitty story.

TO THIS DAY, I still don't understand the fuss with Independance day, like Godzilla, it was long, drug out, you had to wait for the damn action to start, the plot sucked, and worse of all, you saw the damn aliens like once during the movie. -Bobby [email] ------------------

BTW, my Mom was looking at the local paper after I finally got to see it, and it had what everyone was rating it. If a movie gets a star= Definately see it. If a movie gets a flower thing= So-so. If a movie gets a dot= It sucked.

South Park got 5 stars and one flower thing, WWW got two flower things and four dots. HAHAHAHA!!

In our theaters, we had those popcorn bags, and a movie poster. That's it.

Dang... I think we have a poster in the front and that's it...the movie was in the LAST theatre...all the way down the hall, like they were hiding it or something... I hate Falwellville...I really do! =(

They can duplicate another film's story, they can duplicate another film's special effects, they can duplicate another film's pacing, and they can duplicate another film's "star power." Somehow, they can't seem to duplicate another movie's originalilty.

South Park is way better than WWWest. My sister said WWWest sucked. and South Park BLU ruled! Emertainment weekly A- for BLU and D- for WWWest.

Yeah, that's what I've been hearing too. But, WWWest is getting so much hype with the kids, especially in my area. Will Smith is worshipped in my town (by my brother, even....lotsa kids he knows are all big Will Smith fans) and with all this hype with all these kids (most of which aren't mature enough to see South Park) they're all being drawn to WWWest and they drag their families, and all that...like how I'll probably be dragged to see it. It's all in the advertising and hero worship of it all.
