ATF vs. FBI (Spoilers for Cow Days and 308)

Just wanna give a spoiler warning for dudes who have not seen either Cow Days or 308.

In Cow Days (213), How come the FBI was called in by Jimbo instead to the ATF since there was a Cow Cult involved? It's not a hostage situation unless you considered that cow idol a hostage.

Concerning Episode 308, why was the ATF was called in since there were no firearms invloved (unless they're serving warrents to Jimbo & Ned)? I assume that Barbrady feared another repeat the Cow cult thing that so he called in the ATF.

Personally, I think that the first time Matt and Trey decided to use the FBI because perhaps they didn't really know what the FBI can and can't do and they just wanted an important government organization that was higher than the police in that episode. In the "Melvins" episode, I think they used the ATF because they wanted to do a parody of Waco, in which the ATF was involved. I don't think Matt or Trey really were aware of which emergency situations the FBI and ATF are called for.
