I had a job interview a couple of days ago and the head of the interview panel was impressed with my Eric Cartman socks. Unfortunately my mobile phone rang three times during the interview (the fucker never rings usually, so I didn't even think to turn it off) and the man with the money was also very impressed with Terrance and Phillip singing about chicken and ham each time it rang. Needless to say, I got the job!!

The second half of season 12 hasn't gotten off to a great start. The China Probrem was a bit disturbing with the various rape scenes (Indiana Jones being raped by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas a la The Accused, Deliverance, and something else that I didn't actually pick up on), although Breast Cancer Show Ever wasn't too bad. Wendy Testaburger beating the crap out of Eric Cartman with Principal Victoria's blessing was actually quite enjoyable.

In a strange twist of irony...

• my mother has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer
• she had an operation for same a couple of weeks ago
• she's having a mastectomy tomorrow
• I'm currently in a short contract with the Queensland Cancer Registry
• the latest episode of South Park was about breast cancer.

Prior to a couple of months ago, my only exposure to breast cancer was when I had a quick chat with Jane McGrath about 5� years ago - obviously not about her affected region though.

The new episodes of SP have not been that great. The first two shows last season were all time classics. This year? Not so much.

My new boss was the guy firing the questions at me. I was wearing a double-breasted (there we go again!!) suit while the interview panel wore jeans. Quite funny really. Anyway, I had a six month contract (which lasted 2 years) on a project where I encountered the new boss because his system interfaced with mine. I'm assuming that my familiarity with his project is what landed me the job. I probably didn't interview as well as I could have but it was relaxed because I knew the new boss and had a rough idea of what I was talking about every now and again.

As for the money, it's around 1� Stratocaster XII's per week after tax.

I equate writing South Park episodes with song writing. For most of the 176 episodes so far, Trey Parker has written them all by himself. I consider his hit rate to be in excess of that of The Beatles, who I reckon had more duds than hits. I can't think of 17.6 episodes that were crap, so he's travelling at better than 90% - probably closer to 95%. Also, I may hate an episode that someone thinks is their favourite and vice versa, such is individual taste.

Still, they've basically been pretty ordinary so far for the second half of season 12.
