Chris Farley in BASEketball?!?

I saw Baseketball here in New York City, where it's playing on only THREE screens! Unbelieveable. If the movie is failing, it's due entirely to marketing and distribution idiots.

But I digress...

As I was coming out of the theater (and I wisely stayed until the end of the credits ::wink wink:: ) and wiping the tears of laughter off my face, a woman came up to me and said, "Did you like it?"

I started praising the movie, and then she told me her husband was one of the writers. She didn't say which one, and I didn't ask. As we chatted for a minute, she said that Chris Farley was originally cast to play "Coop" Cooper, before Death on his tricycle caught up and touched Farley with his icy claw.

So I got to thinking... If Chris Farley and someone else (like, say, Adam Sandler or some other barely talented SNL alumnus) had been in the movie instead of Matt and Trey, I think I can say without fear of contradiction that the movie would have sucked.

Matt and Trey's presence made a mediocre movie hilarious. That's my vote. They're the best comedy "hacktors" I've seen lately. Especially Trey Parker.

     Yeah, the movie sure seemed different and better than normal shitty moveis
that have the SNL peole in them.  Personally I couldn't take seeing Chris
Farley in that scene in the locker room where they are naked and he couldn't
have gotten off a lot of the jokes as well at Matt adn Trey did.
      Anyway I don't think that anyone else could have done the scene wher they
say 'dude' a lot or slipping in thinkgs like saying he's gonna fuck the sleeve
of his favourite sweater when he gets home.
     Of course when you think about it the movie was perfectly cast. I've
always wanted to see Jenny McArthy laying carpet.
