I'm assuming there are many people like myself that are visiting this ng less & less. Is anyone left that can remember when this use to be a vital, energenic, funny, interesting newsgroup? Back in Oct, Nov there would be hundreds of new posts every day, very many of high quality. It's painful to see how far this ng has fallen.

But you have to remember there has only been one season. What the half-way intellectual people in this NG need to posts reviews, much like the people in alt.tv.simspons. They have an A+ NG. It'll get better once the new episodes come.

remember also that we are between new episodes...I'm sure once the new season starts, everything will be back to "normal" (whatever that is...)

I do recall the juvenile flame wars but it seems to me that was countered by more mature, clever & amusing posts. While there is no doubt that SP always attracted pre/early teen viewers there usually were enough college age & older subscribers that made it worthwhile to slog through the crap. Now, with few exceptions, it is overrun with pablum. I mean the whole who is Cartman's father theme! Does anyone over 16 really give a shit? I think the long hiatus has driven off the quality posters but I am hopefu,l as someone said, that once the new season starts they will return. Anyway, thanx for letting me vent.

Yes, I do care and I am well over 16. ;) I do not care for soap operas but this little cartoon has parodied the soaps quite well (yes, an animated version of the old show "SOAP").

I've been coming to alt.tv.southpark since about the time it was created and I honestly don't think it's changed very much. With the droves and droves of people who've come in and out since then, the ratio of stupid to smart people seems to have remained unchanged....

Someone mentioned the Simpsons newsgroup as an "A+" group; I'm actually quite flattered being one of the experienced posters over there, but it's far from being a model really. People refuse to read the FAQ and ask the same stupid questions, start endless "favorite line by this character" posts and the occasional binary, not to mention "EVERYBODY COME VISIT THIS KICKASS SITE! .WAVS, PICS" etc..

Lately we've been plagued over there by this neo-Nazi troll who thinks Lisa Simpson is an Ashkenazi Marxist Jew.....and we also have to deal with the MutantMan now.

Keep him. With the new eps coming, we're getting an influx of people like him. :-) (And you have my sincerest sympathies.)
