ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY likes the London Trip Episode Best

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY's critic, re-posted today by AOL on AOL, picks the simpsons in the top ten shows of this season, and, somehow, it's the only program in this top 10 that i watch

The Simpsons (Fox) Please do not consider ''The Simpsons''' No. 10 slot a measure of quality slippage -- it's just that after all these superlative years, the show has become such a fixture of this list, I'm now reserving this position as the bedrock upon which all quality television rests. The funniest half hour of broadcast television this year may have been the family's Nov. 23 visit to London: priceless Homerisms (''We love queens, be they homecoming or Dairy'') combined with such impeccable sight gags as the ''Judi Dench's Fish and Chips'' drive-through. Throw in an ''Artforum'' joke for the six viewers who laughed their tails off over it, and ''The Simpsons'' proves again that it's the finest mainstream cult show in the history of the medium.

Just shows you how clueless the people at Entertainment Weekly are ... they probably just randomly picked a show out of a hat and called it the best. Unfortunately, they picked the only episode that *wasn't* very good.

i have been meaning to ask this of a while so..............

so many so called fans keep saying over and over how bad the show has become. how it was better so many season ago. despite the fan that the show is still the funniest show one the air and and is still showing making lots of people laugh why do you keep watching it if you hate it so?

Out of curiousity, why did you respond to my post with this comment? I stated that the England episode was "the only episode that *wasn't* very good", meaning that I considered all the other episodes in the 15th season very good. I don't have a problem with the quality this season, although a few seasons ago was a different story.

general seem to have a "the show stinks now" pov that i and others disagree with i just wonder why if they don't like it anymore why they watch :)

Because being a fan means not turning the channel as soon as it turns bad. We're still allowed to care about these characters and their universe even if we don't agree with the way that they are being handled.
