BTW, some of the stadium-seating theaters I've been to have special, more comfortable handicapped seats. If you get there early you can grab them. Naturally you'd give them up to any handicapped person who shows up, but I've never actually seen anyone with an obvious physical handicap in the theater so that's not likely.

I miss the 'Gold Class' cinemas up in Brisbane (I'm in Australia, BTW). I moved away and there are none down here at all. Basically the 'seats' are these big reclining chairs with foot rests- incredibly comfortable - with a table between each chair, you can order proper meals, desserts, coffee & alcohol and they bring it to you when you specify... no one under 18 y/o allowed (woohoo). I think it was limited to about 50 seats yet still with the full size screen and sound. Ticket price was double the normal price but absolutely worth it.

I'd have to agree! The closest thing I've seen here in the US is a dine-in theater. It was not good. First off, the place was carpeted, and the carpet smelled like years and years of the inevitable food spills that occur in a restaurant that's as dark as a movie theater. I'm sure they cleaned it as much as they could, but the whole place smelled like *old* grease. Secondly, they had regular restaurant seating instead of comfortable theater seating. Finally, the food was crap, and sort of pricy. Not much like your Gold Class cinemas!

I wonder why the "Gold Class" cinema idea hasn't caught in here. Americans love eating, watching movies and comfortable seating as much as anyone, if not more so.

Yeah, you'd think the U.S would have done it already?? Alas for me, my nearest Gold Class cinema now is approx. 60 miles away.
