I must say the two episodes last night were pretty unremarkable. They weren't bad or anything, just two more in a long line of grinded out episodes.
The first was a bit of a retread (Bart in the Junior Campers was better) with tons of Idiot Homer, and, what a shocker, another show that ends in a riot. The bit about the Canadian National Anthem simply escaped me (and please, I know what they were going for, so don't anyone bother trying to explain it to me). And the swipe at the US seemed tacked on for little purpose (if the Simpsons writers want to offer up political satire, they have to be more than simply glib.)
The one funny line of this show was a total throwaway:
BURNS: The Pawnee have returned. I suppose they want their souls back.
The episode about Moe the Babysitter was a little better, but just re-enforced my feelings about a little Moe going a long way. His character can be brilliantly funny in spots, but a whole episode around him just wears out its welcome.
The only laugh out loud bit:
MOE shows Maggie the model of the bar, pushes the talking Homer figure that says "I peed my pants."
HOMER: I recorded that for private use!
