Being european myself I was wondering about that thing: I know our women are famous for being hairyer than the average (especially here in the Mediterranean), but hey, I can guarantee they shave as well... :)
Is this really a common belief there in America? That our women don't shave so often?

I had heard that Europeans thought all of America was like the Old West, that we had shootouts all the time and rode horses. I can tell you, very few of us ride horses.

It's a very common belief over here in the U.S. I don't think it's so much about the legs as the underarms. I wouldn't know personally either way, but it's a very common belief about European women over here.
