BTW, how do you define "annual"? The U.S. Open are a multi-day event. Following that definition, most sports leagues have higher attendences.

I disagree, the profesional tennis "leagues" are the ATP (mens) and the WTA (womens). The U.S. Open is a tournament which always starts the last week in August and goes through the first week in September.
