Clips Shows

Just curious, How many episodes of "The Simpsons" have shown clips from previously aired episodes?

Only 5 have been full clip shows, but many others have shown a clip or two...or a dozen... the clip shows are So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show (9F17, season 4) Another Simpsons Clip Show (2F33, season 6) The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular (3F31, season 7) All Singing, All Dancing (5F24, season 9) Gump Roast (DABF12, season 13) You can see by the titles and production codes (of most) that nobody really wants to be doing these clip shows...but 5 of them out of (at this point) 317 is not bad at all...about 1 in 63...

(To compare, some other numbers I just pulled off the top of my head: Seinfeld 4/180 (going by time - it was 2 extra-length shows), Malcolm in the Middle 2 in 4 seasons, The Critic 1/23, Futurama 0/72, Family Guy 0/50, South Park 1/108, Duckman 1/70...)

Actually, I'm with you. The music, and especially the "Paint Your Wagon" sequence saved this episode.

It did take a lot of flak - maybe because when you're waiting for new ones and this comes up, it's a letdown - but I did like the songs and they came up with (at least) an interesting theme instead of a standard clip show...the interstitial songs are kind of blah, but "Paint Your Wagon" and Snake shooting the orchestra make up for it...

To be fair, Seinfeld's last clip show was only 40 minutes long -- hardly two full episodes worth. I'll give you 3.3333333 clip shows for Seinfeld...
