Mirkin: Get a Life, Simpson's and Larry Sanders

Watched a Get a Life DVD over the weekend that had a David Mirkin interview in which he talked about his involvement in GAL, The Simpson's, and Larry Sanders... Just wondered if anyone has noticed connections between them?

I know Chris Elliot was in a couple eps of Larry Sanders and the Hans Moleman character has died numberous (sic) times on the Simpson's--similar to Chris Peterson on GAL. Just wondered if anyone has noticed other connections between the shows. (Three of my favourites.)

Have there ever been any Chris Elliott/Peterson or Larry Sanders references on The Simpson's?

Being a HUGE Simpsons and Get a Life fan the only thing I could see might be related is in Starship Troopers Marge is abducted with a giant lasso the saw way SPEWEY was hoisted back to his homeworld in Spewey and Me.

speaking of that dvd....has anybody else found al of the easter eggs? they're mostly just hidden bits of that mirkin interview where he talks about why they choose the REM song, etc. Very cool.

I have seen all the Simpsons episodes, but dont remember this? Does anybody remember the context of Chris on this episode of the Simpsons.

i do remember this. it was NOT actually a simpsons episode (it was live action except for some simpsons clips), but an episode of america's most wanted (hosted by john walsh and everything) where he explored who shot mr. burns. i remember them interviewing chris and they asked him who he thought did it. can't recall what he said, but ten bucks says it was funny.

Funny, it also lists Daryl Gates appearing as himself. Wasnt he LAPD chief during the Rodney King deal? Didnt this episode air around the time of all that?

Yes, it does exist and I have it on tape.

Chris didn't seem to amused when they asked him who he thought who did it. He had the attitude of like: "What the fuck?" and didn't seem to know, or care about who shot Mr. Burns.
