REVIEW: B - well, it was a B-plus until the "what the hell was that"
        ending with "O Canada" (which left out a few words) - not
        that it's not a good song (it's certainly more singable than
        "The Star-Spangled Banner"), but why bother?  (Of course, it
        was an "anti-Canada-Bashing" reference of some sort, but
        still, it's a non sequitur ending.)

REVIEW: B-plus - one of the better episodes (and for those of you who
        have known me for a while, no, it's not just because it's a
        Maggie episode...well, maybe a little), but it had one of
        those "you saw it coming pretty much from the start of the
        final act" endings

Why is it that all video camera scenes are in black and white?

Note that the only couch openings used once in the 14th season were the Get Smart opening (DABF20), the computer mouse opening (DABF21), and the mime opening (EABF05).

Because they are black and white cameras?

I don't know about in the Simpsons, but surveillance cameras were traditionally black and white, because they were a lot cheaper than color. I also suspect nobody felt that color was that important for simply watching, with little detail lost because they couldn't see what color someone's shirt was. I have no idea when, or if, color took over in this field too. So the expectation for such cameras is that they be black and white, and the scene was merely replaying that standard.
