City of New York vs. Homer Simpson

Why's this episode been banned? I can see why New Kids on the Bleechh was banned(It kinda sucked. *1/2 out of ****), but I can't see why this episode was banned.

It's not really been banned, just taken out of syndication for a while for sensitivity reasons.

It aired on Washington DC syndication last night (I'm not lying).

Perhaps we should let BBC2 know here then. They skipped it as it was due to have been shown mere weeks after 11/9, but if America can see it now, then so should we.

I've already seen it on satellite, but IMO the NY episode is a very good and deserves to be seen by British terrestrial viewers.

Anyhow, 'NY Vs Homer' was the first ep of S9, but BBC2 skipped straight to S9-2 'The Principal & the Pauper'.

Leaving aside the now poignant associations, what do you think of it as an episode?

I thought it was quite a good one, certainly better than most recent ones.

Barney almost going insane through not being able to drink, the crab juice, Homer killing the wheel clamp, the singing - to name just a few good points.

Yah, it's Maxtone-Graham gold.

I was going through my collection last night (20+ 6 hour tapes, all recorded from original airings since day one, and still going,.. yikes...), and came across that one,and gave it a good watch...

There was some damned funny material in that one, and It was kind of interesting to see the Simpson's in a "real life" location instead of a fictional town like Springfield, Shelbyville or Captial city,... I think it could be easily considered one of the classics,...
