Tonight's outing was a fun adventure, which managed to restrain itself from straying into wacky territory. While the first act was a bit dry, with some jokes at the Air Space Museum falling flat, the bulk of the episode's humor worked, with notable gags coming from the well-utilized side characters (Apu and Ned's backseat bickering, Canedian Flanders and the Burns/Smithers interaction all being highlights). But, again, a lot of gags did misfire (Homer at the beginning and bipolar Krusty to name two). Satire was playing it's A-game tonight in Act II, and it was good to see Grampa in a big role again. All-in-all, a respectable, but less-than-spectacular effort, which earns an 8/10. (B-)

Cut to Homer in the pilot's seat, flying, as Grampa stands next to him.) Homer: We'll make it on a wing and a prayer! (Cut to the outside of the plane, as the left wing breaks off. Cut back to the inside of the plane.) Homer: D'oh! (Cut to Mounties surrounding Homer, Grampa, Apu and Flanders in a van. Homer opens the door and a cascade of pills pours out. Cut to Homer and Co. being escorted into a paddywagon.) Announcer: ... when Homer smuggles cheap prescriptions across the border! (Cut to inside the Plywood Pelican.) Burns: Time to dump all unnecessary weight! (Zoom out to reveal Homer in the back munching on donuts.) Homer: I can lose weight! Just give me a chance! (He gets up and begins to do jumping jacks, but quickly gives up.) Homer: One...two...eh, I'd rather die. (Cut to the plane swooping down over Springfield Town Hall towards Chief Wiggum, who lies sleeping in his cruiser.) Announcer: The Simpsons! All-new, Sunday at 8/7c on FOX!
