The most incredibly subtle joke in the show's long-running history!

This extract from 7F02 ('Simpson and Delilah'- one of the all-time greats) has got to be THE MOST INTRICATE and ABSURDLY subtle joke in the show's (or television's!) history:

[:: When Burns emerges from the bathroom stall in the executive washroom, he says:

    "I was watching the DuMont last night, when I happened to catch a
    fascinating documentary on Rommel, the Desert Fox..."

Bill Morris reminds us that DuMont was one of the first companies to produce television sets. But the pun is that back in the early 50's, DuMont had its own television network in competition with the big three, much like what FOX is doing now. (DuMont went under because they didn't have the resources to expand.) And to make sure we get the joke, the documentary just happens to be about the Desert FOX.

What's more, the name of the man who defeated Rommel? General Montgomery. ::]

NAME the piece that the string quartet is playing at the beginning of the scene in the executive washroom.......No lame "Debussy" or "Schoenberg" guesses either. I want the NAME of the piece.

A few others (in a.t.s.'s past) pegged the peice is Debussy's string quartet, so I assume the actual name of the pice is (glancing over a Claude Debussy fan website): String Quartet in G Minor

But if you ask me the real bit of trivial about this music is that it's only played by three musicians in the scene in question.

I am sure that it is the "7th" something in "G" someting else, a play on "7G", Homer's section in the snpp.
