At the rish of sounding like a "picky idiot".... Paul is from Thunder Bay, which is north of Toronto, but they saw a plaque in T.O. saying birthplace of Paul Shaffer.

Oh, and about the comment I just made about Paul Shaffer being born in a bus station, notice the parallel with the Allman Brothers song, "Ramblin' Man"

Paul Shaffer ranks right up there with Jenny Jones as so called celebrities we wish weren't Canadian.

See, you shouldn't have said that. I didn't know Jenny Jones was a canuck. Neither does 95% of Americans.

Hee hee. I thought it was just me thinking Letterman's shtick was getting really tired. For some odd reason the audience howls with laughter at Dave's every move. Canned laughter maybe?

My impression was that the plaque indicated that Paul Shaffer was born IN that particular bus stop.

So, was he born in Port Arthur, or Fort William?

Would somebody please look up where Paul Shaffer was born and end this thread? I still don't understand how hard it is to understand that he could have been born in Toronto, and yet raised in Thunder bay? Is every person on earth raised in the same town they are born in?

Yeah... but there's also the joke that Springfield claims to be the "birthplace of the Beatles". So it might be with the bus station.
