The writers seem to have forgotten that it's cool to think The Simpsons sucks nowadays!! Now everybody's going to think I'm a dork because I liked this episode! Season 15 seems to be going pretty good I think. My take on it so far:
Treehouse Of Horror XIV = I'm not a THOH fan AT ALL but still, this one was pretty good. Homer being death was cool. B-
The President Wore Pearls = Okay, i wasn't a huge fan of this at first but I have warmed up to it mildly after having watched it about 10 times. Still, not a fan of "musical episodes" or episodes with songs in it but wasn't bad... wasn't great C+
My Mother The Carjacker = Probably one of my fav episodes of this (though still early) season and ranks in the top 20 of all time. I had medium sized aspirations to see this one and was not disappointed. Seemed to flow very well I feel. A-
The Regina Monologues = I figured this one would be a complete crap episode and I was surprised. My least fav so far of this season it's still better than a lot of other eps. Seemed a little.... I dont know... hokey. I'm not big on name dropping episodes. Only ones I've liked where guest starts played themselves were the Mel Gibson, and Alec Baldwin/Michelle Phiffer episodes. C--
The Fat and the Furriest = Homer at his best. This episode shows a LOT of promise for the still coming episodes. It seems (to me) that Homer is finally back as the loveable goofball idiot we've all come to love. I was laughing a LOT during this episode and have seen it 25 times and still laugh a lot. A true mark of a good episode. A+
Today, I Am a Klown = This was a decent episode and glad to see the Simpsons focus one someone NON-Simpsons related. The first since Mr. Spritz Goes To Washington (Another Krusty Ep) that wasn't really focused on anyone Simpson. Some can argue "Moe Baby Blues" but it is questionable.

I'm surprised that so many people think highly of this episode. Maybe I'm nitpicking, but I thought this episode was truly dismal. Yes, some of it was funny, but the basic premise revolved around the fact that Homer was accused of being a coward because he was afraid when attacked by a huge grizzily bear! The Simpsons always had some semblance of logic to me, so the fact that after Homer's numerous (and effortful) attempts to escape the bear, he was still threatened, he was considered a coward when his life was on the line, was just plain stupid to me. I can see that kind of "logic" going into a Family Guy episode, but not a Simpons ep.

I've seen them. But there's a certain "humorous logic" in those absurdities. They were over the top enough to make them acceptable. The bear incident a couple of weeks ago, was not.

I think if you take away THOH and the England episode from this year, you've easily got the strongest season so far since before the Mike Scully era...
We've been lucky to get a good half of an episode a season since around season 9...
The Simpsons never jumped the shark. They just hit a little lull. I think the writing and animation have always been there, but some of the casual fans have grown tired of the same style after so many years of it.
I haven't seen nearly every episode, but the Simpsons have almost become a staple of my TV diet. I'm not addicted, but I know I can depend on being entertained Sunday nights at 8:00 if I don't have anything else to do.
Still, I think the only right thing to do would have been to put Family Guy in the 8:30 Sunday slot instead of killing the show, and then maybe those who have enjoyed the Simpsons humor for so long would have gravitated toward the new thing... and Family Guy wouldn't have been through what it's gone through.
But who cares if it's coming back, right?

Even the bad episodes aren't that bad. I find more humour in the worst episodes of the Simpsons than I ever do in most other TV shows.
