I'm rather new to this group so I don't know if this subject has been brought up before. I couldn't find anything about it in the archives or FAQ.

I think Lisa's hair, in 3D, would be like.... a ball, but with spikes all over the top of it... not just on the front or the sides.... So from different angles, you would see different numbers of spikes.

On another note, it's just a show. I think you're trying to read into something that just isn't there. The animators would probably just draw it so it looks right, not so there are a specific number of spikes....

If they put Lisa with different amounts of Spikes, she will look a bit different everytime.

In the 3/4 view it's eight and further spikes cannot be seen becasue her face is in the way, but as she turns to face straight on, more spikes can be seen. As far as I know, she has 11 when looking straight ahead. It's not a goof, just pick up some Simpsons Comic books to see for yourself.

The only design goof I've seen with Lisa is she had three toes when she went to try on a pair of shoes in (I think) the Last temptation of Krust.

You know, this is one explanation I could almost buy... It may be that there are two different animators assigned to Lisa, one favors 10 and the other 11 spikes.
