Last night, 12/8/03, one of the eps they played was where Lisa meets the activist kid and then climbs the tree in protest. This is a so-so episode that I've seen too many times already.(Can't remember the other ep.) At 11:30 p.m. was the one where they build a tennis court in the backyard,(also a newer one). I think that one has alot of funny parts, but I don't understand why they play it so much...well, actually...it's one of those episodes that a non-fan can watch and get a laugh because of it's universal appeal in choice of jokes. And maybe there lies the answer as to why they play the newer, "crappier" ones- as you referred to them. Rather than appeal to the die-hard Simpson fan, (i.e. earlier seasons), they play eps that will pull any viewer into watching. Masses = $.
Tonight it's Tales From The Public Domain and that unwatchable cowboy episode.
