Can anyone explain the joke?

I found this whilst browsing around snpp.com...

In the capsule of 7G11, "Life On the Fast Lane", the following can be found (and I quote):

"Can Anyone Explain the joke

I bet you don't know how to make a 5-7-10 split do you Marge? [Marge: `'Noo''] But first of all you yell ``The eight pin is a cop!'' [Marge cracks up] Let it all out Marge, Let it out Marge. Laugh out loud, you'll lose me. Marge: [recovering] You're very funny."

Well? Can anyone explain it?

It's a bowling joke. With the 5 - 7 - 10 split (one of the hardest splits to pick up), the 8 pin is between all of them. If the 8 pin is a cop, the 5 pin, 7 pin, and the 10 pin will all leave, or split (because split also means "to seperate persons or groups"). It was one of those jokes that you had to think about to understand, and I think when I first saw this episode, I started laughing about this joke 3 months later. -Aaron TheYAM.net
