4/21 - Gump Roast (DABF12)
    In an episode written by, oh, what's his name, the guy who's the
    new voice of Dodie's father on "As Told By Ginger" (the one who
    doesn't sound like Gomez on "The Addams Family"), you know, he's
    Arnold's grandfather on "Hey Arnold!", and he made an appearance
    in "Space Jam" as well, it's on the tip of my tongue, he was the
    robot devil in an episode of "Futurama" too, you know, writer Deb
    Lacusta's husband...anyway, the Springfield Friars Club roasts
    Homer...with clips from past episodes, which brings up the
    question "is it a clip show or isn't it?"
    (For those of you who didn't get the joke, the writer in question
    is Dan Castellaneta, who co-wrote the episode with his wife)

4/28 - DOUBLE FEATURE
7:00 - The Lastest Gun in the West (DABF07 - repeat)
    Dennis Weaver guest voices as an old western star who prompts a
    revival in westerns, and gets a chance at a comeback - if he can
    keep his drinking under control
8:00 - I Am Furious Yellow  (DABF13)
    Stan Lee guest voices as himself as Bart starts his own Internet
    comic strip...featuring Homer

5/3 - SPECIAL FRIDAY AIRING - The Bart Wants What it Wants
      (DABF06 - repeat)
    Reese Witherspoon guest voices as Ranier Wolfcastle's daughter,
    who has a crushon Bart, but by the time Bart tries to return his
    affections, she's got a new boy in her life - Milhouse - and in
    order to win her back, Bart has to go to the set of Ranier's
    latest movie - so "The Simpsons are going to Toronto!"

5/5 - The Sweetest Apu (DABF14)
    Homer discovers that father-of-eight Apu is having an affair
    (and, despite previous mentions at snpp.com's Upcoming Episodes
    site, apparently Kathie Lee Gifford does NOT voice "the other
    woman", unless it's uncredited)

5/12 - Little Girl in the Big Ten (DABF15)
    Robert Pinsky (who?) he's the former Poet Laureate of the USA
    (what?) anyway, he guest voices as himself as Lisa tries to
    pass herself off as a college student; Bart suffers a bite from
    a rare mosquito and has to live in a bubble

5/19 - DOUBLE FEATURE - NOTE SPECIAL TIMES (because of the final
       episode of "The X-Files" at 8:00)
7:00 - Brawl in the Family (DABF01 - repeat)
    When a game of Monopoly turns into a family brawl, a family
    counselor is assigned to the Simpsons...and just when things are
    back to normal, Homer gets a surprise visit - from his second
    wife (as seen in "Viva Ned Flanders")
7:30 - The Frying Game (DABF16)
    As part of his community service for threatening an endangered
    species, Homer has to take care of an elderly lady, and when she
    dies, he is accused of killing her and threatened with the
    electric chair

5/22 - SPECIAL WEDNESDAY AIRING - SEASON FINALE
       Poppa's Got a Brand New Badge (DABF17)
    Homer causes a citywide blackout, resulting in widespread
    looting - but when Lisa's saxophone is stolen, Homer takes the
    law into his own hands (say, whatever happened to the Springfield
    Cat Burglar, anyway?)

    original "Star Trek" episodes as the prize after the growing
    "Star Trek movement" forced the show's ban from Earth in the 23rd
    Century

4/28 - PRE-EMPTED for a Simpsons repeat

5/5 - PRE-EMPTED for a King of the Hill episode (I think Fox is showing two new ones that night, but I'm not sure)

These actually sound like pretty good plotlines. We'll have to wait and see if they pan out, though.

They do, but this one in particular sounds like a combination of two previous episodes (Marge becomes a cop, Lisa's sax is stolen). But if it works, who knows what other old episodes they can combine to form new ones? How about this: Bart falls in love with his substitute teacher after the regular teachers go on strike?

Actually, maybe this is marking the triumphant return of the Springfield Cat Burglar. Anyway, does anyone know why it's airing on a Wednesday? And is it at 8, or some other time?
