Janurary 5th episode

This episode was rather funny. the writing was a little lapse, but the satire (the ride of failed dreams, etc) made up for it...

I thought it was a great episode and the writing was very sharp, except for maybe the final act. It's amazing that show in it's 14th season can still come up with episodes like this.

I agree that this episode was very funny. It was a solid three, maybe three and a quarter, stars out of four -- certainly quite good and enjoyable (yet admittedly not an all-time classic). This is in no way meant to put down the episode; it was fun. I'll continue to watch "The Simpsons" if they can do THIS kind of stuff each week. Good work, everybody -- really.

Two minor things I noticed: (1) Was the animation or the coloring a bit shabby-looking in places? There were a few times that I noticed the "animation border" around Bart's mouth. And has anyone noticed that characters seem a bit too separated from the background? (2) I thought a bit of the satire, as is the writers' wont these days, was too in-your-face and blatantly obvious. Then to add fuel to the fire: "Mmmm, that's gooood satire!" That part was lame, honestly. (I LOVED the gas-corporation- sponsored electric car.)
