Drawn Together as Emmy Contender?

Hey all,

I haven't seen much fan response online to Comedy Central's brilliant reality/cartoon send-up "Drawn Together." Any fans out there?

I have a feeling this show might be up for some Emmy nods when the nominations are announced in the summer (though apparently new episodes won't be around until next fall, which could damage exposure until then). The parodies on characters, animation styles, voice work, and even subtleties like animation frame rate have been second-to-none IMO, and the writing is fantastic in a few of the episodes. Cartoon vets Tara Strong, Jess Harnell and Cree Summer are great, with Summer giving her best VO work in 15 years.

The show seems to be following Guild guidelines so I'm wondering if it'll get any recognition come nomination time (I'm not sure that any other prime time CC shows have done this so far). Thoughts?

To make this on-topic: a strung-out Homer parody appears in episode 5, "The Other Cousin."

I doubt it. As much as I like the show, the judges might be to prudish and think the show is too 'foul-mouthed' for any recognition.

I'm sure that Drawn Together is eligible for the Emmys, as CC's main animated series, South Park, has been nominated in the animation category four times.
