Itchy and Scratchy hardly ever show up anymore, but there's still plenty of violence, what with Homer getting cut and/or mauled in every other episode.

Celebrity cameos are way overdone! I don't have a problem when celebrities play characters, such as Steve Martin as the trash inspector, but I don't like it when they have guest stars playing themselves for no other reason than to have a commercial advertising Mel Gibson or N'Sync or whoever is appearing on The Simpsons.
