Your subject header said nothing about the show. There was nothing in the message about the show. You didn't quote what you replied to which might have given a clue.

On the other hand, you did do a google by changing the subject header without giving any indication that you'd changed the subject header. Hence the original subject header, that did likely reference The Simpsons, was no longer there.

You further googled that google by assuming everyone sees the newsgroups like you do at google, all on one neat page. There, you've sort of overwritten the previous subject header, so what people see at google will be your subject header, not what it originally was.

Meanwhile, others simply see your subject header, and have no context.

Indeed, until I just checked, I just assumed you'd started another thread, with absolutely no context except alt.tv.simpsons in the newsgroup header. Only when I checked to verify that you were indeed posting from google did I notice the reference header, which only exists if you are replying to something.
