Ok. I KNOW this is gonna get some heat, but I R E A L L Y HATE Lisa. And the WORST part of any episode ever is when she sings and/or screams in righteous indignation. EG: Singing: Jazzman was so awful I turn the sound down when she sings EG: Screaming in righteous indignation: when she says she will "not live an this house with that neandrethal! I am OUT of here." just recollecting it makes me nauseous. How they could make that little brat any more annoying I can';t imagine. Past the third season Lisa is wasted ink.

OK, I don't even want to guess what she used to be :-).

    	Anyhow, even if you hate her, she's valuable as she serves as the
    contrast to the rest of the family (excluding Maggie, perhaps), which
    highlights their antics. Not to mention she provides the setup for
    plenty of Bart and Homer jokes.

    	And she provides lots more those those of us who find her to be the
    favorite character... ...but that has no relation to what we're
    talking about.

You forgot the "hhrrrmmmm..." Otherwise you do a pretty decent 'Marge'.

Oh, I'm not saying take her out... I know she needs to be there and serves a purpose. Her purpose is to aggrivate me to no end. So I say keep her.

big call. I wouldn't say she is a waste of time, maybe not hugely funny, but not watse of ink. Lisa provides the perfect foil for Homer. She is Homer's antithesis, and is a useful plot device to that end. eg Homer and Lisa in the new Age store (Make Room for Lisa) had some HUGE laughs in it:
