Attention: The Powers-That-Be behind The Simpsons Pfff. Union writers. Who needs them anyways? During the Writers' Strike, why not hire me on? I was trained in screenwriting at Matt Groening's own alma mater and I'd like to pitch some show ideas to you! I currently have seven GREAT show ideas, four good ones, five average ones and three bad ones, of which I will give you for free:

"Lisa the Teacher" When Miss Hoover falls dead to Lyme disease, a replacement teacher cannot be found. Lisa is chosen to teach the class, but may have bitten off more than she can chew. Meanwhile, Homer begins gathering up Duff Beer points to win a Harrier jet he saw on a satirical Duff commercial.

"666: The Number of the Bus" After losing his life in a heroic "Casey Jones"-esque bus accident, Otto is sent to hell, much to his enjoyment. Meanwhile, Homer proclaims himself a medium and makes money of Otto's grieving friends.

"Left-Eye Lisa Simpson" After Bart accidentally takes out Lisa's left eye with a slingshot, Lisa learns to deal with this disabilty by reading about the great one- eyed people of history. Meanwhile, Homer finds his old comic book collection and opens a comic book shop, much to the ire of the Comic Shop Guy, whom hires a team of supervillians to take out Homer. Special Guests: Peter Falk, Gordon Brown

And those were just the bad ones! Imagine what the good ones will be like!

I like this idea, well... the idea of Homer being a medium I especially like anyway.

That "Casey Jones" reference could be taken three ways. Otto could have been high on cocaine. Or he could have been the actual Casey Jones. Or he could be the union scab of Wobbly mythology.

If anyone is seriously considering this sort of thing, I suggest you read this: http://www.wga.org/subpage_member.aspx?id=2529

Notice the 15th group of names on the right side of the list.

Somehow, I don't think they're interested in taking in non-union workers.

(Also notice the show runners for "Family Guy" and "American Dad" are on that list, so don't go running off to Seth MacFarlane for work either.)

Hopefully, it won't come to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_KCuwQrsmw (go to the end of the clip) There's one person who won't be doing any strikebreaking writing any time soon...
