absolutely. i totally agree. i especially like what they do with the eyes, particularly homer's. such a level of expression and humor in those eyes. a good example? well, in 2F09 "Homer the Great" (one of my personal fav. eps) the quote "i always wondered if there was a god, and now i know there is. and it's me" is a great quote, but the look on his face and those half-mast eyes and slumped over posture make it even more classic.
an interesting question: does anyone ever dream in simpsons, or in cartoon in general? i've definitely had dreams that are all in cartoon simpsons-style. some of them follow episodes we know and love, others are once-in-a-lifetime unique episodes in my brain while i dream. had one last week. don't remember any good details, but it was the simpsons characters and i was a fly-on-the-wall observer (i.e. never "saw" myself animated in the dream). involved someone wearing large checkered pants who wasn't a clown. but anyway, does this happen to anyone else? i imagine it's partly a function of the ridiculous amount of simpsons i watch...... but i'd be interested to know about other people's experiences......
