Question for current-show haters

I hesitate to even go down this path, but...

Here's something that I've always wondered about - okay, you don't like the show anymore, I can get that...but why is it never "eh, it's not good anymore" instead of OMG CANCEL IT MAKE IT END DIE DIE DIE? Why not just, you know, not watch it anymore? If it were 10 years ago I could understand wanting the show to end so it could "go out with dignity"...but the chances of that have been gone for years.

So why does this type of person want so desperately to see the show end altogether at this point?

Plenty of people - myself included - have wanted the latter to happen, and have said so in this group many times.

(in my case at least) Having watched the show (including the Tracy Ullman Show) since the beginning, it's a hard habit to break. Not to mention a fair amount of curiosity about what the new eps are like...

See above. It's just sad to see such a great show that I loved so much decline so badly. It's like watching Ghandi doing infomercials for Halliburton. I'd rather it just ended.

There is only a superficial resemblance to the first ten or so seasons. Not just in the writing, but visually and aurally. That great comedic timing is long gone. Those are/were very significant traits which I loved so much about the show.
