10/5 - Lost Verizon (KABF15) Bart starts making prank calls using a cellphone discarded by Denis Leary (voicing himself); when Leary gets Marge to turn on the phone's GPS tracker, Bart turns the game of cat-and-mouse into a wild goose chase

10/12 - PRE-EMPTED for baseball National League Championship Series Game 3

10/19 - GASP! TRIPLE FEATURE ----------------------------- 7:00 - Smoke on the Daughter (KABF08) Lisa discovers that the secret to ballet dancing isn't cigarettes - it's cigarette smoke; Homer's homemade beef jerky is stolen by a family of raccoons * Some cities in the Eastern and Central time zones, including Detroit (and Houston, if the game is not blacked out), will get this episode in progress (or even pre-empted) because of football coverage (note that the Lions-Texans game is the only 4:05 game on Fox that day)

7:30 - Treehouse of Horror XVIII (JABF16) Homer and Marge as "Mr. and Mrs. Smith"; Kodos crashes his spaceship and befriends Bart and Lisa in an attempt to contact his home planet; Flanders asks for a little divine intervention to make his "heck house" a little more, well, realistic * See above about football coverage in some cities

8:00 - Double, Double, Boy in Trouble (KABF14) Bart meets his double (at a party thrown by recent lottery winner Lenny) and they trade places, but Bart is unaware that his double's brothers and sisters are out to kill him so they can get his share of the family fortune * If baseball National League Championship Series Game 7 needs to be played, it is scheduled for Saturday 10/18; there is a chance it could be postponed until 10/19, pre-empting this episode

10/26 - PRE-EMPTED for baseball World Series Game 4

11/2 - Treehouse of Horror XIX I don't have all of the details yet, except that two of the stories will be a "Transformers" story where the Transformers and Decepticons patch up their differences and go after a new enemy - the Humans, and a version of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" where the Great Pumpkin actually shows up, and he's not particularly happy about what is done to pumpkins at Halloween * note that Treehouse of Horror XVIII airs on 10/19 * "Why is THOH XVIII airing on 10/19 instead of on the same night as THOH XIX?" Well, 11/2 is a Fox NFL doubleheader day, so it can't air episodes nationwide before 8:00. As for why they don't air it at, say, 8:30, (a) in the past, Fox has shown enough support in all four of its Sunday shows not to pre-empt any of them in November, and (b) if they do show two Simpsons episodes that night, since it is two days before election day, I wouldn't be surprised if Fox airs "E Pluribus Wiggum" instead.

Slight correction to the list of Season 19 episodes not aired three times; Treehouse of Horror XVIII has aired twice only in the Pacific time zone (the scheduled repeat on 2/24/08 was pre-empted in the rest of the country because the finish of that day's NASCAR race on Fox was delayed). Assuming the 10/19 episodes air as scheduled, "Homer of Seville" is the only other Season 19 episode not aired three times yet.

For those of you who heard that there was a Simpsons clip during the Emmys, there was, but it wasn't new (like the "Family Guy" bit from last year); it was taken from "Bart Gets Famous" (1F11), where Bart appears on Conan O'Brien's show (it was used to introduce Conan, who was presenting an award).

Also, for those of you who are looking for Paul Newman's quote, "Homer, I'll tell you what I told Redford: it ain't gonna happen", it's in the Season 13 episode "The Blunder Years" (CABF21).

STUFF for "Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes" (KABF17) ------------------------------------------------ Written by Kevin Curran Directed by Lance Kramer Blackboard: none Couch: Everyone is encased in Carbonite Special Guest Voice: Robert Forster, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Joe Mantegna Also Starring: Tress MacNeille, Karl Wiedergott Overseas Animation: Akom TV Rating: TV-14-DLSV

REFERENCES "sex, lies, and videotape" (title) 3F04 (erotic cakes) BABF10 (reference to Homer accidentally causing Maude's death) "Star Trek" (the half-orange, half-green man and woman similar to the episode with two half-white, half-green creatures) McDonald's (Shamrock Shakes mentioned) "The Hulk" "Fantastic 4" (Thing is fighting The Hulk) Dog the Bounty Hunter (Wolf) "Batman" (scenes of Homer and Ned at the end of the chase)

SELF-REFERENCE In the chase scene at the end, Homer is holding an Emmy at one point

DYN
...the show does not have its own "Viewer Discretion Advised" opening
for its TV-14 episodes, the way other Fox series do?
...the bakery looks like the one from the end of 3F04, except for the
   "erotic cakes" sign?
...one of the bail jumpers was Sideshow Bob, who escaped from prison
   at the end?
...the mall had Just Vinegar, Expensive Coffee In Little Cups, and
   Something Wicker This Way Comes?
...unlike on a "Star Trek" episode with similar-looking creatures, the
two-color people were green (and orange) on the same side? (This
was to make the joke about looking different when facing each other
   kissing work)
...there is a bail bondsman who only wants 10% of the bond as a fee?
   (Usually, it's 25%)
...when the picture of Sideshow Bob is being printed, it is on a
printer that still uses the kind of paper with holes on the sides?
(Apparently, they got a different printer for the time the picture
of Bart was printed, as that paper did not have holes)
...Ned appears to be reciting from the New American Standard Bible,
with its use of "became the father of" instead of "begat" or "was
   the father of"?

GOOFS / FREEZE FRAME / WHATNOT When Bart mentions the IRA, he is wearing his normal clothes, but in the scenes before and after it, he is wearing his green clothes.

Ned's bulletproof glass isn't 100% transparent; there should have been some way to see it when the bullet was heading for it.

Homer's keys don't show up on the floor until he comes back to get them.

In the chase scene, at the planetarium, the close-up shows Homer on what appears to be the moon, but the moon is not there in the full shot. (Also, one planet - Venus, apparently - is missing, and some of the others are the wrong size.)

Wasn't the bail bondsman based on http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001233/ character from this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119396/ this movie?

The scene where Homer and Ned were waiting for Fat Tony to come out of the restaurant, and the subsequent chase scene, came from this movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067116/

I can't type out the names of these movies, because, you know, I can't remember them!
