Chances are, if baseball goes on strike, they probably wouldn't afford to keep going, so maybe we my have a normal starting season next year as well.

hmmm I have not thought of this. I feel mixed emotions on the topic because I keep telling myself that this will be the last year of the Braves run (I have been telling myself this for the last 3 years), and for some reason this really does feel like it will be the last year of their long strange run.

Still, for the greater good of Futurama, Simpsons, and KOTH, I would prefer to see them on October Sunday nights then Bobby Cox holding up a second world series trophy.

Of course, it is not a given that Fox would show new episodes earlier if there is a strike. Do we know for a fact that they will do that (show programs earlier) if they have no other programming choices? I mean, who would prefer to see American Idol reruns or the Pulse on every night instead of post season baseball? I certainly would not...

What else can they show? They have to fill the airtime somehow. And the sooner they start the new season, the sooner they can hype their shows. I bet the tv season would still end on the same day, but we would get more reruns and preemptions during the season.
