Holy boysenberries Batman, that was one quality showing! [Note: That's the only cheesy pun/reference you'll see in this review, scout's honor] Not a joke failed tonight, with all the spot-on satire and cynical humor you'd expect from the show. Yeah, it wasn't that original, but it was funny enough to be excused (standout moments including the SLH photo, the pie-ing Krusty gag (a jab at us that was actually clever and ergo worked) and Kent Brockman's smart remark about the footage). The Homer-Lisa element was excellently done, adding an extra element to the show. Bart as Homer's negative conscience and Marge's role as Pie Man's admirer were nicely done as well. Burns was at his evil best, Ms. Nichols' cameo was short but sweet (just the way I likes �em) and everyone else was well utilized and characterized. Wacky? Yes, but it was Mirkin-era style wackiness, the kind that works well. However, Colonel Tex was annoying as ever and there were a few little things that were more unbelievable than enjoyable, preventing this episode from achieving pie-fection [I never was a boy scout!]. Still, it's a 9.5/10. (A)

Nichelle Nichols, better know as Star Trek's sexy Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, was the guest seen in tonight's episode. Discovered by Duke Ellington in her mid-teens, she toured with both Ellington and Lionel Hampton as a lead singer and dancer. Decades later in 1992, she made use of her voice again starring in a dramatic one-woman musical show "Reflections" in which she became 12 separate song legends. Along with being the closest thing that many faithful Trekkies would ever get to a girl, her role as Uhura was also a breakthrough for the African-American civil rights movement. It was the first non-stereotypical part for a black female on a television series; previously African-American women were always portrayed as house keepers and maids. She also broke further racial barriers by sharing the first televised interracial kiss with William Shatner in 1968. She also was the first African-American to place her handprints in front of Hollywood's Chinese Theatre, along with the rest of the 'Star Trek' crew. With tonight's episode, she joins the ranks of other guest stars of Star Trek fame: George Takei (7F11, AABF20, CABF18) and Leonard Nimoy (9F10, 3G01).

Next he is seen flinging a pie at a pulley, smacking a girl scout in the face with a pie on the steps of Burns Manor, smashing a pie into his own face in a prison-y looking place and being shot at by the police as he escapes up a fire escape.
