The ending of Maggie Roswell characters has got to stop, especially with her being back on the show and all. What next, will Helen Lovejoy get a laryngitis storyline? How about Miss Hoover taking mime lessons?

She did speak once this year. I think some of the writers haven't been told that Maggie Roswell is back, and are still deathly afraid of writing anything where Marcia Mitzman Gaven will have to voice Maggie's characters.
Roswell voiced Ms. Hoover in THOHXIV..
I like Helen Lovejoy, so hopefully they wont erase her.
Maggie Roswell also does the voice of Princess Kashmir. I don't know if she's still a resident in Springfield or not.
I'm actually kinda curious, who is defined as an "ancillary third tier character?" Obviously we know who's on the first tier, OFF, but what seperates characters on tier II and tier III? Is there a tier IV?

It's a grey area, but I think it goes, in general, by cognizability, and the number of episodes devoted to said character, and when. LuAnn, for example, was a pretty consistent character in Milhouse-focused episodes and gags, circa Seasons Seven through Nine; she falls into the background even prior to Maggie Roswell's departure from the series and thus to third tier.
Neither of those characters are very important to the show. The thing about Milhouse's mom is that there is the possibility of using her in future eps set in Capital City since she's not dead. Also we may get more of Milhouse's dad in upcoming eps which might be interesting. I always thought the dad was funnier than the mom, in that pathetic single-middle-aged-male-loser sort of way (e.g. Gil, Barney, Moe, et al). LuAnn was just sort of irritating (hmmm, so is Helen Lovejoy come to think of it...)
