What do you all think it will be like? A huge, once-in-a-lifetime TV event? Or just the end of a show on TV? Personally, I think it will be the former, considering all the attention it gets. Nearly EVERY radio station in my town uses Simpsons quotes for those stupid "You're listening to..." parts and other things like that (is it like this elsewhere?), and I could find anybody I know and spend hours quoting the show. So, taking all that into consideration, I think it will the THE next TV event. I know some people in a frame of mind thinking "It died a long time ago", and I partly agree (as do many of us), that the show has gotten lamer through the years, but it is not "dead" until it actually gets cancelled or taken off the air by its creators (I personally hope it is taken off by the creators when it is a powerful show). Well enough of my ramblings, what do you all think?

I think it'll be something like the Seinfeld ending. Sure there was hype, but it wasn't really a huge thing. BTW, Did anyone else catch that MTV thing where they mirrored the final Seinfeld with those cool little cartoons during the commercials? That was cool.

I have on odd suggestion for dealing with the grand finale let down:
Make an episode like that, but don't make it the last one shown. So the 'final' new episode will be a typical simpsons ep, but there will also be an hour long special that wraps up the show. That way the fans get a final episode, but still have a typical epsiode to look forward to.

Well, in one of the "cheesy clip shows" in the Simpsons, Troy McClure said that they will keep making the show until it becomes unprofitable. After almost 13 years on the air, the show remains the top-rated Fox show (its reruns are only topped by "Malcolm in the Middle"), so it's unlikely that the show is going to end soon.

A few choice Season 12 episodes have upped the quality that it was at in the glory days. And the movie is quite possible now.
