MadTV is just as bad if not worse. A typical comic in the mag is the width of a page and takes about 5 seconds to read. A typical skit doing the same joke takes 10-15 minutes.

it got really bad during the later crews when they did the same fucking skits every week. (toilet paper stuffed body builders; bill crystal "it's marvelous" and I hate when that happens) What SNL was *great* for was that you could be guaranteed sleep within 15 minutes.

I have a certain morose interest in really really bad movies. It's pat is about at the bottom. Good think I didn't really watch it -- it was just background noise. Coneheads was pretty bad.
The first blues brother's movie was wonderful. BB2K was an extreme stinker, but had a good soundtrack album.
I haven't yet gotten the nerve to rent "battlefield earth". I think I'll have to wait for it to be on TV.

If you want to talk about brutal hollywood movies, I would say one of the worst I can remember that the mainstream public actually enjoyed was Indepence Day. I thought that movie was a big pile of dung. Not a single redeeming quality about it. And then the remake 'Armaggeddon' sucked almost as bad.

It's ok...really ridiculous but pretty funny. It manages to have a bit of a plot...it's not like most of the SNL movies where it's just a realy long sketch. If you got a free coupon it's worth seeing I'd say.
