"Bovine" is another zoological term (noun or adjective) for cattle, the advantage of which is that most nonscientists know it refers to both genders.

That settles it. Springfield is based on Honolulu, Hawaii.

I am a little confused.

The city limits of Honolulu extend to the entire island of Oahu. But that does not mean that it encompasses an entire county. A county in the state of Hawaii could extend over more than one island.

OTOH, the city of Jacksonville, Florida, extends to the county limits. But it is not Jacksonville county. It is St. John's county, I believe.
