Possible Directing/Acting mistake

WHAT!? I always thought the exact opposite! The whole Richard Simmons thing was hideously UNfunny compared to hillarious shut-the-door and then ring-the-doorbell-and-run gag that did make it. It was quick, simple, and realistic, which is always funnier than long, drawn-out, overly outrageous stuff that makes it to The Simpsons now. -Serack

I really liked Burns' "worst" being shutting the door, and locking it. Then of course, Homer says "HE LOCKED THE DOOR! [angry] I'll show him! [rings doorbell]" Still a very funny gag. I think they made the right choice, by cutting out the Richard Simmons thing and putting in the doorbell thing. Sure, it's fun to make fun of RS. But it wasn't very realistic (a dancing robot), and it was a one-gag (maybe "two-gag", with the Terminator 2 reference) scene that lasted way too long.

Besides; "his ass is going to blow" isn't funny to me, because of the abject use of the word "ass". (Let's stick in the word "ass", and see if it gets a laugh). A "fart" double-entendre? As Lunchlady Doris said to Homer: whatever. I didn't hate the RS scene; just thought the doorbell was more concise, and funny.

So, in short, I agree.
