Big Bird in China is an actual special that aired in 1983. Inspired by a trip of China that Big Bird actor Caroll Spinney took to film a Bob Hope special, the special features the famed Sesame Street character as he, along with his pet dog and a Chinese girl, search the country for clues to find a legendary phoenix.
With the introduction of TiVo, a big controversy in recent years is the product's ability to allow the user to fast forward the commercials. Since advertising plays a big role in funding the networks the cash needed to produce various shows, there's a fear that a lot of people converting to TiVo will result in a major loss of revenue. To help deal with the situation, TiVo has begun testing "pop- up" ads in which a static images ad would appear when a person fast forwards certain commercials.
